Karen enjoys supporting social entrepreneurs to grow their businesses and their impact. She has worked with social enterprises and various not-for-private-profit ventures for more than fifteen years, primarily across the UK. The name socentraveller was created when she found herself travelling from the Skerry Islands in Shetland to Jersey and from Fraserburgh to Cardiff working with social ventures. The name is more apt now that she is travelling to various US cities visiting social enterprises on her Church Fellowship 2018.
She works with start-ups and spin-outs as well as established organisations, helping their leaders find the best way to grow and to finance that growth. Her LinkedIn profile includes her various expertise and private sector experience which underpins her work as a Business Adviser. Karen is based at Cambridge Social Ventures at the Cambridge Judge Business School for 3 days a week, this leaves enough time to gallivant across the country meeting clients and running workshops whilst still enjoying her work at Social Venture Weekend (next one in June) and the Social Venture Incubator.
This website is being developed to share the stories of the great social entrepreneurs and leaders of social ventures that Karen works with, plus share some resources she has found useful or has developed herself. These sections are being updated – so watch this space!
